The most important thing is work ...
Lou Reed (in 'Songs For Drella')
Looking at my portfolio from the previous year it appears that I was settling into my position
as IT demonstrator at the Visual Arts department of the University of Salford. Somewhat to the contrary the job dynamics
have significantly shifted towards an involvement in several departments within the School for Art and Design.
Nowadays my tasks include an increasing number of workshops and lectures on a range of subjects surrounding digital media creation.
My favorite lectures in 2007 were about advanced print colour management using Photoshop, Open Source software
for artists and designers, standards compliant web design with Dreamweaver and digital video creation.
Beyond that some projects stick out through their more unique circumstances. They are either
realised for a particular event like the BA Visual Arts Graduation Show or for a specific academic
initiative as the Leftfield fine art publishing group.
My contract with Notarianni Glass as web/flash developer ran entirely outside
the University's scheme.
As a last minute addition I created the Flash video architecture for trespesos.net,
a website promoting the documentary film Tres Pesos by Ruth Cross.
Despite this quite impressive workload I found some moments to work on my own artistic projects and promotion.
